I met my future husband in the summer of 2010. It was a whirlwind romance and we married that fall. This is not my first time living abroad. I learned all about life in a foreign country at a young age. I was 14 years old when my family moved back to the United States and since that time, I would daydream about one day living in France with the man of my dreams, sipping a local wine and eating flaky croissants. Happily, this does happen on occasion, only I find myself in the neighbouring country of Germany, in lower Bavaria to be exact. It is so beautiful here. The small city I live in was built hundreds of years ago, surprisingly survived the wars and is quite romantic. Sometimes when I look out my window I can’t belive I live here. Yet, I do.
There is one constant in my life, no matter where I live in the world. That is being in my kitchen, creating delicous food and baked goods for my family & friends. There is something quite satisfying in setting a beautiful table, even if only for two and presenting a meal that not only looks delicious but tastes delicious and is satisfying.
I hope you will join me on this journey as I cook and bake up a variety of foods here in Bavaria. Sometimes it holds quite a challenge as not all ingredients are the same overseas.
So, grab a cup of coffee and let’s have a visit.
